Purity is an unlockable passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth.

Effects

• Grants a random aura around Isaac that grants a boost depending on the aura's color:
  • Red: +4 damage.
  • Blue: -4 tear delay.
  • Blue: +2.0 fire rate.
  • Yellow: +0.5 speed.
    • Also affects maximum speed (may never exceed 2.0).
  • Orange: +7.5 range, +1.0 tear falling speed.
  • Orange: +3.0 range.
• Taking damage causes the aura to disappear. When the next room is entered, the aura will reappear with a random color.

Notes

• The tear delay boost can allow the player's tears to go over the normal maximum rate of fire.
• If Tainted Isaac swaps Purity for another item and picks it back up again, it will have a different aura.

Interactions

• Diplopia/Crooked Penny: Holding multiple copies of Purity will still only grant one aura, providing no additional benefit.
