Effect

  • Grants a chance to trigger the Book of ShadowsBook of Shadows effect upon taking damage, creating a shield that nullifies all types of damage for 7 seconds.

Notes

  • The base chance of creating the protective shield is 20%.
  • The activation chance of this item depends on the Luck stat and goes up to 100% at 27 Luck.
  • The shield negates health loss from Blood Donation Machine.pngBlood Donation Machines and Devil Beggar.pngDevil Beggars.
  • Does not prevent Heart Container loss from Health Down pills or Devil RoomDevil Room Deals.
  • Does not prevent damage from IV BagIV Bag.

Synergies

  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) The PolaroidThe Polaroid, VirgoVirgo: Can trigger at the same time as The Polaroid or Virgo, cumulating to up to 22 seconds of shield.
