This article is about the item. For the enemy, see Mulligan.

The Mulligan is a passive item.

Effects

  • Tears have a 16.67% chance of spawning allied Blue Flies when they hit an enemy.
  • This item belongs to the BeelzebubBeelzebub set. Collecting three items from this set will transform Isaac into a giant humanoid fly.

Notes

  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) Because the GuppyGuppy transformation includes the guaranteed ability to spawn flies on hit, the Mulligan's effect is nullified. This means individual tears cannot spawn more than one fly per hit.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) The 66.67% chance of spawning a fly granted by Guppy will not stack with The Mulligan's 16.67% chance.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Blue flies will only spawn if Isaac has less than 30 blue flies.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) This item does not work for (except in Rebirth) Character Lilith icon.pngLilith since the (except in Rebirth) IncubusIncubus tears do not count for her tears.
  • Items and trinkets that increase tear firing rate synergize well with the Mulligan.
  • This item is not affected by luck.

Synergies

  • Character Azazel icon.pngAzazel/BrimstoneBrimstone: Rapid damage ticks can cause large amounts of blue flies to spawn.
  • Chocolate MilkChocolate Milk: The Mulligan's ability isn't affected by the charge time, meaning rapidly firing uncharged shots will generate a ton of blue flies.
  • Cricket's BodyCricket's Body / The ParasiteThe Parasite: Has a 16.67% chance to spawn a fly on every hit by a split shot, which boosts the spawning of flies immensely.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Dr. FetusDr. Fetus: Bombs have a chance to spawn blue flies when damaging enemies.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Finger!Finger!: Rapidly spawns blue flies when pointed at an enemy.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Urn of SoulsUrn of Souls: Fires have a chance to spawn blue flies.
