Cricket's Body

From The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Cricket's Body is a passive item.

Effects

  • When Isaac's normal tears disappear (either from hitting the ground or hitting something else), they spawn 4 smaller tears.
    • Each smaller tear deals half of Isaac's normal damage.
    • Split tears are scaled down by 0.6x from the main ones, ignoring damage-based size reduction.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) Tear size multiplier: 1.2x.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) +0.1 tear size.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) -1 tear delay (increased rate of fire)
    • Since this directly affects tear delay instead of changing the tears stat, it allows Isaac's rate of fire to go over the normal maximum rate.
    • Tear delay decreases are more noticeable and are a greater increase to DPS when the tears stat is high.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) +0.5 fire rate.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) -10 range.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) 0.8x range multiplier.

Notes

  • Split tears will inherit the main tear's status effect, if any.
  • If Isaac has less than (except in Repentance and Repentance+) 10 range/(in Repentance and Repentance+) 10 tear height, the split tears appear but cannot cause damage before hitting the floor.

Synergies

  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Angelic PrismAngelic Prism: All tears split by the prism will burst into split tears.
  • Bob's Rotten HeadBob's Rotten Head: Bob's Rotten Head splits into four smaller heads on detonation.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Compound FractureCompound Fracture: When bone tears split into bone shards after hitting an obstacle or enemy, the bone shards will split into 4 smaller bone shards after hitting the ground.
  • (except in Rebirth) ExplosivoExplosivo: The explosion results in split Explosivo shots being generated. (except in Repentance and Repentance+) If the target survives, they're likely to immediately stick again. (in Repentance and Repentance+) The split tears explode when they hit an enemy or the ground.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) HaemolacriaHaemolacria: Main tears can split as they burst upon hitting the floor, an obstacle, or an enemy. The split tears can burst, but burst tears from main tears do not split.
    • Cricket's Body's x0.8 range multiplier does not stack with Haemolacria's own x0.8 range multiplier.
  • IpecacIpecac: Main tear splits into four explosive splash tears. The split tears can still damage Isaac. Having (except in Rebirth) Host HatHost Hat or PyromaniacPyromaniac is strongly recommended.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Cricket's Body's x0.8 range multiplier does not stack with Ipecac's own x0.8 range multiplier.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) LachryphagyLachryphagy: Fed tears split into 12 tears.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Lead PencilLead Pencil/Monstro's LungMonstro's Lung: All tears fired will splash after landing. Increased damage potential only noticed when firing into groups, due to the random pattern of each tear when it splashes.
  • The ParasiteThe Parasite: Eight split tears instead of four.
  • Tiny PlanetTiny Planet: The split tears orbit Isaac instead of spreading.
  • Tough LoveTough Love: Teeth tears will split into 4 smaller teeth.
  • (except in Rebirth) Tractor BeamTractor Beam: Main tears and split tears will travel along the beam.

Interactions

  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) BrimstoneBrimstone: Overrides Cricket's Body.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Small red brimstone tears will fire out upon the beam hitting a wall or enemy.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Brimstone + Soy MilkSoy Milk: Brimstone tears always fire out at the end of the beam.
  • Dead OnionDead Onion: Significantly decreases effective range, potentially preventing the split tears from causing damage.
  • (except in Rebirth) DiplopiaDiplopia: No effect.
  • (in Rebirth) Dr. FetusDr. Fetus: Reduces range, bombs do not split.
    • (in Afterbirth and Afterbirth †) Reduces range, the bombs fired by Dr. Fetus will split into smaller bombs, much like Scatter BombsScatter Bombs.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Increases range, the bombs fired by Dr. Fetus will split into smaller bombs, much like Scatter BombsScatter Bombs.
  • Epic FetusEpic Fetus: Only tear stat change applies.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) EuthanasiaEuthanasia: Needle tears will split into 4 small needle tears upon hitting the ground or an enemy. Split tears produced have a chance to deal triple damage but will not cause tear bursts.
  • Fire MindFire Mind: Main tear splits into four explosive splash tears. Having (except in Rebirth) Host HatHost Hat or PyromaniacPyromaniac is strongly recommended.
  • (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Flat StoneFlat Stone: Tears will usually only bounce twice, unless Isaac has high range, and spawn burst tears when they bounce.
  • Hook WormHook Worm: Split tears gain a significant range increase, allowing them to potentially hit farther targets
  • (except in Rebirth) Kidney StoneKidney Stone: Drastically decreases range, potentially preventing the split tears from causing damage. The stone will not split.
  • The Ludovico TechniqueThe Ludovico Technique: Overrides Cricket's Body except for stat effects which apply.
  • Mom's KnifeMom's Knife: Range of the knife is significantly decreased.
  • Number OneNumber One: Tears disappear very quickly after being fired, and split tears barely travel at all.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Not recommended. Unlike other similar items, Cricket's Body's x0.8 range multiplier does stack with Number One's own x0.8 range multiplier, thus drastically reducing range.
  • Piercing tears: Tears will only split after landing on the ground.
  • Spectral tears: Tears will only split after landing on the ground.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) TechnologyTechnology/(in Afterbirth and Afterbirth †) Tech XTech X: Overrides Cricket's Body. Stat effects still apply.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Cricket's Body tear splitting effect applies when lasers hit something.
