Will not add to the player's key count, but when picked up, it will allow the player to use keys on anything that requires them without subtracting from their total for the duration of the current floor, even if the current number of keys is 0.
Sharp Key and Key Masters ignore the Golden Key and still subtract keys from the key count. Key Masters now consume the Golden Key, and will pay out instantly with Paper Clip or an item from the Key Master item pool if the Paper Clip has been encountered previously in the run.

Trivia
Booster Pack #5 added an electrical graphical effect to Charged Keys.
Charged Keys start sparkling as soon as they spawn, helping players distinguish them from normal keys and prevent wasting charges.
- Charged Keys may be based off of the story of Benjamin Franklin discovering electricity via tying a key to a kite during a lighting storm, thus drawing an electrical charge from it.
- Golden Keys having a skull on them is a reference to skeleton keys, a master key that is used to unlock multiple doors.
