Infinite seeded runs with the bonus item appear to have been patched out. i just gave it a go and it didn't work. Can anyone confirm this?

On my first seeded run it gave me the extra item, and subsequent runs it didn't. Also my first unseeded run afterwards didn't receive the item either, which was pretty disappointing. My guess is that it just applies it to the next run no matter what now.
