Is there any pattern to when he drops Lump Of Coal VS Head of Krampus? I've heard that if you take no damage and beat him, you get his head, and if you take damage you get the coal. I'm not sure if it's true or not, and I can't confirm it myself, so I'm just putting it here.

Nope. There's no discernable pattern of whatever to be found. The damage taken rumor is very false. Good you asked here first before adding any hearsay to the article!
