Rarity

WHY IS IT SO RARE!?!?! WE WANTED IT TO BE RARE BUT NOT THAT RARE!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.76.157.141 (talk • contribs) 09:54, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Really? As soon as I unlocked it, I found it the next run first floor (rerolled)... maybe you didn't unlock it yet. Anyways, I just got Number One and Epic Fetus... I'm not sure what it does but the missiles are leaving yellow smoke behind. Can anyone maybe investigate? I'm not good at that kind of stuff. 1WYQ KGSV is the seed; I rerolled the first item to get epic fetus. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.182.30.33 (talk • contribs) 01:09, 22 December 2014
Epic Fetus also benefits from status inflicting passives: if missile carries its effect then explosion will be colored same way as affected tear would be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.50.203.162 (talk • contribs) 11:14, 22 December 2014

Buttbombs interaction

Does not work with Buttbombs, could be added as info. /M4deman —Preceding unsigned comment added by M4deman (talk • contribs) 11:04, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your report, I'm adding it. GryphusR (talk) 17:32, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Interactions

The page is protected, but there's something I wanted to add: Homing tears don't grant any effect, but the explosion turns purple. Techonology 2 fires a laser towards the cardinal direction of the crosshair, like with Ludovico. Zhnigo (talk) 11:29, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

You can still use the mouse to aim it, just needs some editing in the files. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.197.151.73 (talk • contribs) 19:02, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

An interaction that I discovered recently in the (except in Rebirth) with The Wiz: The crosshair is controlled diagonally, as if rotated 45 degrees clockwise from usual (i.e.: the up arrow will move it in a northeast direction), and two missiles are fired, similar to the effect of 20/20. The crosshair can be moved in the cardinal directions by pressing two arrow keys at once (e.g.: pressing the up and right arrows will move the crosshair right). (The directions might be slightly off, but it's either 45 degrees CW or 45 degrees CCW.) -quantiplex (talk) 05:07, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Combining Epic Fetus with Brimstone in Afterbirth does have an effect. When every missile explodes, it fires out a Tammy's head Brimstone combo every time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CarriedCoin (talk • contribs) 19:06, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Combining it with Monstro's lung gives a random spread of 4 crosshairs you can aim, and 2 missiles fall down on each crosshair. --78.23.144.42 21:19, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Interaction additions:

  • (except in Rebirth) 20/20: Fires 2 missiles in rapid succession.
  • (except in Rebirth) Technology: Will work along side Epic Fetus as expected.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluechipps (talk • contribs) 12:41, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

  • (except in Rebirth) Mom's Knife: Multiple knives shoot all around the missile explosion

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.205.255.148 (talk • contribs) 17:32, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

  • (except in Rebirth) The Wiz: Shifts your aim 1/8 clockwise, so straight lines become diagonals. Fires 2 missiles in rapid succession.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.188.64.216 (talk • contribs) 11:15, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

  • (except in Rebirth) Tech X: Similar to Technology, each missile shoots laserbeams in a Tammy's head fashion, but unlike Technology you can only fire missiles.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.136.241.251 (talk • contribs) 19:53, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

  • (except in Rebirth) Epiphora: Fires 3 missiles in rapid succession, dealing obscene amounts of damage altogether. If moved while the missiles are landing, they can explode in separate areas.

I just added this description to the main page, but wanted to leave a seed for people to try the combo if they're interested (it's super fun). The seed is B8J4 CVJT. Note that curse of the blind is active on the floor with epic fetus; it's located in the treasure room of Depths II. I actually managed to combine it with *Conjoined for even more explosives, and a host hat. There can never be enough explosions when you have a host hat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geschi27 (talk • contribs) 19:09, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Mouse control

"In the original game it was possible to control the crosshair with the mouse. This was removed in Rebirth." This isn't correct. Enabling mouse support through the "options" .ini file will let you control the crosshair with the mouse, in whatever version Steam uses right now (1 may 2015). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.123.88.152 (talk • contribs) 17:04, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Monstro's Lung

Adding Monstro's Lung to Epic Fetus adds 2 to 4 extra crosshairs that orbit the main one at random distances. I'm not sure if this is in the base game or if it was added by Afterbirth, but someone should add this interaction to this page and to Monstro's Lung. If you want to confirm for yourself, the seed I got both Epic Fetus and Monstro's Lung on is 89TH 649H. --RobberBaron (talk) 22:49, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

It's DLC added. I noted it above here as well. --78.23.144.42 14:15, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Bugs

(in Afterbirth † and Repentance) Breaks Epic Fetus: Other users having the issue where Epic Fetus sometimes does not fire with Bookworm:

Problems with Epic Fetus in AB+, the mark on the ground appears but no missile shots.
~ Skragenoth
Ever since I got bookwormed the crosshair has a good 50% chance to just vanish without any bombs dropping.

Monstro's Lung again

hey there, i can't edit the page myself, but there's a neat interaction i found: if you get monstro's lung, multiple crosshairs appear. if you get monstro's lung again, it'll spawn five waves of missiles, similar to mutant spider. every additional mosntro's lung also adds five more waves, eg. 15 missile waves if you have ML 4 times (1 for the mutli crosshair, 3 for the additional strikes) 89.144.194.97 19:18, 23 November 2018 (UTC)

Possible bug

There is a huge problem with the Bookworm Transformation. Besides doubling the attacks in 25 % of the cases it will also negate the attack in roughly 25 % of the cases (as in the cross-hair disappears and no rocket drops). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.222.214.69 (talk • contribs) 18:42, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

I tested this myself and I'm not finding the same results. It seems like this may have been a bug or a glitch but when I tried replicating it, it just acted normal. --Sirtimmothybrentwood 18:06, 1 September 2019 (UTC).

Item pool

In 1.7.9 Repentance update Epic Fetus was added in the pool of regular Treasure Room, please fix it
