Compost Effect

The description of Compost seems to say that for every pickup in a room, it should spawn one blue fly/spider per pickup. However, I've been testing it and this doesn't seem to be the case. I thought adding the addition blue fly/spider to the count and it still doesn't seem to come out as a one to one ratio. I've been testing with Marrow, Pageant Boy, and Latch Key and the count varies. Could someone please clarify if I've missed something? I've also been trying to test the Fish Tail interaction and I can't tell if that's not doubling blue fly/spider or if Compost doesn't spawn blue flies/spiders in a 1 to 1 ratio. Bug with Dirty Mind?

I've seen compost work normally (doubling spider and fly count). Was excited to try it with Infestation Shot / Hive Mind. But it's doing nothing at all. I've also got Bozo and started with Dirty Mind, but I only have 20 or so Dips. Anyone know why? --Aquasheep3000 (talk) 19:36, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Edit: Seems to work fine when I have no dips left, but fails even with only 8 of them alive, almost as if it were counting all the dead ones until I went to the next floor, but then I still did get new spiders from a red chest and from Infestation Shot and flies from compost via items; only the doubling was not working. --Aquasheep3000 (talk) 19:44, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
