Clarify Mom's Chest + Jera

It says it cannot be duplicated with D1 but can it be duped with a Jera rune?

Nested Chests

How deep can chest nesting go? I'd thought that a nested chest would always contain items/pickups, but I just saw a video wherein they opened a brown chest to receive a smaller brown chest, then opened that to find an even smaller brown chest (which contained some pickups). Has anyone seen triple-nested chests (or greater)? Do we know if there's a hard limit to chest nesting, or if the probability is just so low that it never happens in any seed? --100.35.0.144 16:46, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

To my knowledge, the nesting can go forever. With that said, it is astronomically improbable to receive more than 3 nested chests in a row. --Zamie (talk) 01:59, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Need confirmation about new Golden Chests loots

In Afterbirth+, Golden Chests get new item loots, mainly Bags. I'm sure for Bomb Bags, Rune Bags and Sack of Pennies, but what about the new Sacks like Sack of Sacks (or maybe other ?)

See Item Pool. --Exschwasion (talk) 20:59, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Some chest type probabilities

Maybe it'll be useful at some point and I mostly wanted to archive it here. Spawning 1000 grey chests gave me roughly the following distribution of replacements:

  • Red 5%
  • Spiked or mimic 5%
  • Stone 1%
  • Eternal 0.1%
  • A bag 0.5%

The same for golden chests is very simple: same 0.1% (or thereabouts) chance of Eternal. --Frionil (talk) 15:24, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Spiked Chest/Mimic Chest Self Damage

I added a line to the Mimic Chest that explains that the damage is considered self damage (it was a detail that I looked up, and couldn't find, and added it after yolo testing it myself during a run). The Spiked chest probably is similar, but I didn't have a test to prove it so I didn't add it there. I also don't know if this was a change or if this was always the case, so I marked it as an unknown patch thing, which doesn't look good. I'm not an editor, but hopefully someone who is can swing by and test/format the info properly; but I figured better poorly formatted info, than no info at all. Thanks!
