Effects
- Upon use, has a roughly 60% chance to drop a penny, nickel, or dime.
The exact chances are 50% for a penny, 5% for a nickel, 1% for a dime and 44% for nothing.
The exact chances are 52% for a penny, 6% for a nickel, 1% for a dime and 41% for nothing.
Notes
- This is a starting item for
Keeper after he beats 
Isaac. 
Sticky nickels and lucky pennies cannot be generated.- The item only costs 10 coins when found in a
Shop.
Synergies
9 Volt: Allows for infinite generation of coins in a room with enemies.-
Book of Virtues: Spawns tiny coin wisps in the middle ring. The wisps have a 50% chance to drop a random coin when destroyed. 
Car Battery: Two independent attempts of generating a coin, which can be of different values.

- Wooden nickels are souvenir coins given out by some American banks. The adage "Don't take any wooden nickels" is a reminder to be cautious in one's dealings, since these coins have no monetary value.
- The Wooden Nickel is the name of the shop in another one of Edmund's games, The Legend of Bumbo.
