The Compass is a passive item.
Effects
- Reveals the locations and types of all special rooms on the map, except
Secret Rooms and 
Super Secret Rooms.
Notes
- The following rooms will be revealed if they exist:
- When combined with
Blue Map and 
Treasure Map, the entire floor is revealed, identical to the effect of 
The Mind.
Synergies
Book of Secrets: It is easier to gain 
X-Ray Vision as Book of Secrets cannot give a mapping effect Isaac already has.

- The compass icon is the same as the one from the the game The Legend of Zelda.
- This item is used in Cursed! (challenge #10).
- Under the minimap, The Mind's icon will override the icon of this item.
- This item can be found as one of the Nintendo-themed
Treasure Room items in the 6th of December's Daily Run, which is an homage to the late CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata.
