Talk:Item Quality
The page mention items_metadata.xml, what is the process to obtain this file (is it possible in Repentance)? I would like to update the wiki with item quality, it's missing from most lists.
- Item quality has already been added to all items (as in, it's part of the data in the items' infoboxes, where everything is defined -- generally item tables are not to be manually edited but instead through editing the infoboxes), it currently is not shown anywhere outside Items, but eventually it'll be added. In any case, the file is available by navigating to your installation directory and running the resource extractor in the modding tools subdirectory. --Frionil (talk) 16:33, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Can anyone verify that Item Quality does nothing by default?
- It does what is listed on the page, the game was reverse-engineered to find any place it's referenced. --Frionil (talk) 01:00, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
items_metadata.xml is referenced on this page for the item qualities. How can one find this file? Seeing random IPs with no edit history making item quality changes on articles has me want to verify that they're true. Especially since certain mods seem to pull data directly from the wiki, if I'm not mistaken. I see certain websites will let you view the contents of xml files, but searching the game folders doesn't bring it up so perhaps it's hidden or buried in a way that I don't have experience accessing. Or maybe experienced editors here are already on top of verifying the recent edits since the latest BOI update? Thanks Dynamo.Seven (talk) 09:31, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
