Attributes, also known as stats, are the numerical values of a character that affect their performance and the behavior of their tears, Isaac's primary weapon. All characters start with a different set of values that can be increased or decreased during a run. The seven main stats are:

  • Attribute health icon.pngHealth: The amount of damage Isaac can take before dying.
  • Attribute speed icon.pngSpeed: How quickly Isaac moves.
  • Attribute tears icon.pngTears: Isaac's rate of fire. The lower the number, the faster tears are fired.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) As of Repentance, Isaac's tear rate is shown in tears fired per second; the higher the number, the faster tears are fired.
  • Attribute damage icon.pngDamage: The amount of damage that each of Isaac's tears deal to enemies.
  • Attribute range icon.pngRange: How far Isaac's tears travel before landing.
  • Attribute shot speed icon.pngShot speed: The speed at which Isaac's tears travel.
  • Attribute luck icon.pngLuck: Affects a variety of chance-based effects.

Additionally, there are a few Hidden Attributes.

Stat Screen

Most attributes can be viewed on the pause menu, except for health (which is shown in the game HUD). The pause menu's attributes are shown on an imprecise scale from 1 to 7 ((in Repentance and Repentance+) 0 to 7), and the values are as follows:

  • Tear falling speed increases range stat in the pause menu by 1 for every 0.5 tear falling speed added.

The pause menu stat screen is made almost completely irrelevant by the introduction of the "Found Hud" feature. Once it is enabled from the in-game options, the Isaac's stats will be displayed in numerical form below the key count.


Found HUD

Some stats on the Found HUD are calculated and displayed differently from the internal, technical side of stats.

  • Damage: Simply displays base damage per tear, without considering any special tear effects.
  • Tears: Displayed as (except in Repentance and Repentance+) "tear delay" or (in Repentance and Repentance+) "tears per second".
    • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) To convert the internal tear delay to "Tears per second", use this formula: 30Tear Delay+1.
  • Range: Displayed as approximate (except in Repentance and Repentance+) "tear lifespan" per tear or (in Repentance and Repentance+) "range in tiles".
    • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) There is no straightforward conversion from tear lifespan to range in tiles, as tear falling speed and shot speed are also involved.
