Rocket in a Jar is a passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Effects

  • Adds 5 Bomb.pngBombs.
  • If any firing input is given when placing a bomb, a fast-moving, explosive rocket will be shot in the direction corresponding to the input.
    • The rockets accept analog firing input. This means they can be shot diagonally or in any other angle with a mouse or joystick.
    • Isaac will place a regular bomb if no firing input is received.

Notes

  • Rockets use Isaac's bomb synergies like his bombs normally would.
  • Rockets are unaffected by Isaac's shot speed.
  • Rockets can be boosted by Collectible Brimstone icon.pngBrimstone lasers and Collectible Hemoptysis icon.pngHemoptysis sneezes.
  • Bosses such as Boss Chub ingame.pngChub or Boss Carrion Queen ingame.pngCarrion Queen can swallow the rockets just like regular bombs.

Synergies

  • Bob's BladderBob's Bladder: Rockets leave creep, albeit slowly.
  • Collectible Bobby-Bomb icon.pngBobby-Bomb: Rockets become homing.
  • Collectible Dr. Fetus icon.pngDr. Fetus: Shoots rockets as normal tears. All synergies that would normally apply are given to the rockets.
  • Giga Bomb.pngGiga Bombs: Fires a giant rocket that moves slower and has the same effects as a normal Giga Bomb.
  • Ring CapRing Cap: Fires two rockets simultaneously.

  • Collectible Sticky Bombs icon.pngSticky Bombs: Rockets will not stick onto enemies.
  • Collectible Remote Detonator icon.pngRemote Detonator: Rockets do not explode on impact with surfaces, requiring manual detonation.
    • Remote Detonator + Dr. Fetus: Rockets fired with Dr. Fetus will still explode on impact, but can be manually detonated.
  • Worm trinkets: Rocket's trajectory is unaffected.
    • Wiggle WormWiggle Worm + Dr. Fetus: Rocket will wiggle from side to side mid-flight. This is the only worm trinket that affects Rocket in a Jar.
  • Collectible My Reflection icon.pngMy Reflection: No effect.
    • My Reflection + Dr. Fetus: Rockets fired with Dr. Fetus will turn back at Isaac, but will not explode in contact with the player. However, it will explode after a duration, possibly damaging Isaac.
