Perfection is a trinket added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Effects

  • Gives +10 luck.
  • This trinket is destroyed if Isaac takes non-self damage while holding it (i.e. getting hit by Monsters, walking on Spikes, getting hit by an explosion, etc.).

Notes

Synergies

  • BlanketBlanket / DogmaDogma / Holy CardHoly Card / Holy MantleHoly Mantle / Character The Lost icon.pngThe Lost / Soul of the LostSoul of the Lost / White Fire Place.pngWhite Fire Places / Wooden CrossWooden Cross: Losing the shield does not destroy Perfection.
  • Blood OathBlood Oath / Dull RazorDull Razor / Sharp PlugSharp Plug / IV BagIV Bag: Does not destroy Perfection, nor does it prevent its acquisition.
  • Glowing HourglassGlowing Hourglass: Makes it much easier to hold on to Perfection since, as long as it can be used in the room where you take damage before you leave, Isaac can reset to the previous room with the trinket intact.
  • MarblesMarbles: Swallowing the trinket on hit will prevent losing Perfection once by putting it in Isaac's inventory. It will be destroyed at the next damage taken.
  • Character The Lost icon.pngThe Lost / Character Tainted Lost icon.pngTainted Lost: Since these characters are likely to die instantly after taking a single hit, Perfection is almost guaranteed to drop after the third floor boss room is cleared and is also almost guaranteed to stay with them until their deaths.
    • This means getting luck based items at any point of the run, especially ones with luck scaling that tops out at about 10 luck, is a very good idea.
    • The ability to Smelt/Gulp trinkets will also add to the synergy, as there are many luck-based trinkets as well.
  • Rock BottomRock Bottom: The +10 luck persists after switching trinkets as stats are locked to their highest values ever reached after picking Rock Bottom up. However, after losing Perfection, additional luck-ups will have no effect until the luck bonus lost is made up. (The stats are still being calculated behind the scenes, but until it surpasses the run's post-rock-bottom luck record, the record will be used instead).

Interactions

  • Gulp! / MarblesMarbles / SmelterSmelter: Despite being added to the inventory, it will still be destroyed at the next damage taken.

Trivia

  • Perfection is from the Antibirth mod. In Antibirth the trinket would continue to be dropped by every subsequent floor boss if damage was still not taken and every source of damage would destroy it.
