(in Repentance and Repentance+)

Mercurius is a passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

Effects

  • +0.4 speed.
  • Opens most doors after entering a room, even in rooms with enemies, allowing Isaac to leave at any time.

Notes

  • While Door StopDoor Stop has a similar effect, Mercurius has the added benefit of opening the doors that Isaac did not enter through.
  • Does not open the Boss RushBoss Rush door.
  • Does not open any Special Rooms, including those that require pickups to unlock. Doors won't be opened even if they were open already (such as Treasure RoomTreasure Rooms and ShopShops on the first floor, Sacrifice RoomSacrifice Rooms, etc.) or have been entered before.
    • Mini-Boss RoomMini-Boss Rooms, despite looking identical to normal rooms, are considered Special and will not be opened. This makes it possible to distinguish between regular rooms and mini-boss rooms without map-revealing effects (such as Collectible The Compass icon.pngThe Compass).
  • Does not open doors to Red RoomRed Rooms if those doors are created while there are enemies inside the current room.
