This article is about Marked, not to be confused with The Mark.

Marked is a passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth.

Effects

  • Creates a controllable crosshair. Isaac automatically and continuously fires towards the crosshair.
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) The crosshair will not appear in each room until Isaac fires. Pressing the "drop" key or button (Keyboard default: left Control key; Controller default: right trigger) will make the crosshair disappear and stop Isaac from firing tears until a firing key is pressed again.[1]
    • (in Repentance and Repentance+) Shooting familiars and throwable familiars now fire towards or launch themselves in the direction of the crosshair automatically.
  • +0.7 tears.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) +3.0 range.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) +3.15 range.
  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) +0.3 tear falling speed.

Notes

  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) If taken with Character Lilith icon.pngLilith, Marked gives the stat upgrades but not the mark.
  • On PC, it is possible to control Marked with the mouse. On Windows, go to C:/Users/[username]/Documents/My Games/The Binding Of Isaac [Rebirth/Afterbirth/Afterbirth+/Repentance]/ and in the options.ini file, change the line that says MouseControl=0 to MouseControl=1.
  • (in Repentance and Repentance+) If taken with Character Tainted Lilith icon.pngTainted Lilith, when the baby is launched, it permanently fires at the crosshair. Pressing the "drop" key or button (Keyboard default: left Control key; Controller default: right trigger) will make the crosshair disappear and cause the baby to return to Tainted Lilith
  • If taken with (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth) Character The Forgotten icon.pngThe Forgotten's body and (in Repentance and Repentance+) Character Tainted Forgotten icon.pngTainted Forgotten, it gives the stats up without any drawbacks, and allows the bone to be angled in any direction, similar to (except in Rebirth and Afterbirth)Collectible Analog Stick icon.pngAnalog Stick.

Synergies

Trivia

  • (except in Repentance and Repentance+) This item's icon shares the same icon as Collectible Zodiac icon.pngZodiac but red instead of white. Character Isaac icon.pngIsaac's sprite is also the same as Zodiac but red instead of black.
  • The mark on the ground is the same as used by Collectible Epic Fetus icon.pngEpic Fetus.

Bugs

Bug Bug! (in Afterbirth †) Mom's Knife + Collectible Haemolacria icon.pngHaemolacria: Causes the crosshair to follow the camera instead of player input. In normal rooms this makes the crosshair get stuck in the middle. In larger rooms, the marker will only move when the camera moves, allowing for minimal control when aiming due to how the camera moves based on the direction Isaac is currently aiming.
