Door Stop is an unlockable trinket added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth † (Booster Pack #3).
Effects
- While held, the last door Isaac went through stays open, allowing him to leave the room even if enemies are in it.
- Does not prevent doors from closing while Isaac is within the room, e.g. triggering a Challenge Room or awaking an Angel in an Angel Room.
Notes
- Does not work in Greed Mode.
- Cannot spawn in Greed Mode.
- This trinket allows Isaac to leave rooms, including boss rooms, if the fight goes poorly.
- Leaving immediately after enemies have spawned gives the player information on the fight, potentially improving decision making.
- If a Devil Room has a Krampus fight in it, Isaac may choose not to fight him and leave.
- If Greed / Super Greed is found in a Shop, one can kill it and leave the room while summoned monsters are still alive to respawn the boss and farm its loot infinitely.
- Does not affect Mom's and Mega Satan's boss room as the access door itself disappears.
- If a room contained champion enemies, upon leaving and re-entering the room, all previous champion enemies will have turned to regular enemies.
Synergies
- 4.5 Volt / Jumper Cables: Provides infinite charges by clearing some enemies then leaving the room, and repeating.
- Charm of the Vampire / Gimpy: Allows the possibility to generate unlimited Hearts.
- Head of the Keeper: With enough patience, Coins can be gathered infinitely.
- Holy Mantle: Can be used to reset the shield at will.
- Tainted Keeper: Leaving and re-entering the room allows for limited coin farming; however, enemies in rooms Tainted Keeper has already visited will eventually stop dropping coins.
